It is a bright, spacious, fully accessible community hall, garden and playground created by the renovation of the old school in Lamancha.
It offers comfortable, flexible and economical venue space in a rural, yet accessible location available for private hire for classes, events, exhibitions and parties.
It runs as a not for profit community enterprise.
Built in 1832, the school was in use until 1984. After 152 years of use it has been brought back to life as a thriving community resource by the dedication of the Lamancha and District Community Association.
Many eco-friendly features have been incorporated in its renovation including
- extensive insulation
- a ground source heat pump which provides all the heating and
- solar panels for hot water.
Lamancha and District Community Association are planning to start a country car club with an electric car for Lamancha and the surrounding area.
If you would be interested in finding out more about car clubs, electric cars and how it could work, come along to the meeting.
A public meeting is being held at the Lamancha Hub on Wednesday 25th January 7.30 with seasonal snack (haggis, neeps and tatties) provided!

Become a member of the Lamancha and District Community Association (LDCA).
LDCA has developed and runs the Lamancha Hub and associated community events. The support of our members is key to our continued success. You will be able to vote at our AGM, receive notice of meetings and information on all the events, classes and activities that take place at the Lamancha Hub.
There is a one off cost of £2 to join and this guarantees you membership for life.
