The Lamancha Hub is a unique venue opened in 2008 set in the beautiful Borders countryside within easy reach of Edinburgh.

It is a bright, spacious, fully accessible community hall, garden and playground created by the renovation of the old school in Lamancha.

It offers comfortable, flexible and economical venue space in a rural, yet accessible location available for private hire for classes, events, exhibitions and parties.

It runs as a not for profit community enterprise.

Built in 1832, the school was in use until 1984. After 152 years of use it has been brought back to life as a thriving community resource by the dedication of the Lamancha and District Community Association.

Many eco-friendly features have been incorporated in its renovation including

• extensive insulation
• a ground source heat pump which provides all the heating and
• solar panels for hot water.

Become a member of the Lamancha and District Community Association (LDCA).

LDCA has developed and runs the Lamancha Hub and associated community events. The support of our members is key to our continued success. You will be able to vote at our AGM, receive notice of meetings and information on all the events, classes and activities that take place at the Lamancha Hub.

There is a one off cost of £2 to join and this guarantees you membership for life.

The Lamancha Hub urgently want to know what YOU would like to see happening here.

What activities or classes would you like? Do you want somewhere to meet friends or play games/sports, listen to music, attend social events?

Would you be interested in joining a group to decide the future of one of our underdeveloped outbuildings?
Then, with our trained volunteers, help renovate it and turn it into somewhere for local teenagers to use?
